Senior Prefects
During the summer term, many of our sixth formers run for election for a position on the senior prefect team; they produce written and video manifestos . All students in the sixth form and staff are eligible to vote to elect a senior prefect team to represent our school. The successful prefects are then interviewed for the position of Lead Prefects by a panel that included our Co-Headteacher, Head of Sixth Form and Head of Year. This process helps to prepare our students for future applications and interviews, for university places and job opportunities.
Our Sixth Form Prefect Team supports life within our Sixth Form and across our School, representing Urmston Grammar at open events and providing guidance to our younger pupils. This rewarding and year-long experience will help our sixth formers develop important transferable skills (including teamwork, reliability and public speaking) that will be useful in any future career.
We were delighted that Rahmat was elected as our Head Girl and Zane our Head boy in Summer 2025. They will be supported by our Deputy Lead Prefects; Imogen, Diego and Mille and the wider Senior Prefect Team. All members of the Sixth Form Prefect Team enjoy taking on these additional positions of responsibility supporting their school.

I am Rahmat. I joined Urmston Grammar Sixth Form in Year 12, so being Head Girl feels surreal. I am currently studying A-Level Mathematics, English Literature and Sociology alongside an EPQ, with the aspiration of becoming a barrister. From debating at Durham and Lancaster University, participating in the Bar Mock Trial all the way to being the head of our Model United Nations society, words cannot express my gratitude for Urmston Grammar and the numerous opportunities I have been blessed with. Outside of school, I am passionate about basketball, netball, cooking and reading. | Hi, my name is Zane. I joined Urmston Grammar for Sixth Form in Year 12. I am studying Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry along with an EPQ centred around Hydrogen Power. I desire to enter the field of engineering in the future. I enjoy being a part of the Senior Prefect Team, as Head Boy, representing the school as a whole. Outside of Sixth Form, I like spending time outdoors, having completed Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and being a part of the Cadets. |

Hi there! My name is Imogen and I've been at Urmston Grammar since Year 7 and then decided to stay here to complete my A-Levels. I am taking all sciences for A-Level, these include Biology, Chemistry and Sociology. I am an aspiring medic looking to go on to become a Medical Officer in the Royal Navy. I love sports and play quite a few outside of school, however my top two would have to be rugby and swimming. I am also a Well-being Ambassador so if you have any troubles or worries feel free to stop me in the corridor for a chat. 😊 | Hi, my name is Diego and I joined Urmston Grammar in 2019, as a Year 7. I am currently studying Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and German, and hope to become an aerospace engineer in the future. Outside of school, I play piano, guitar and bass guitar, and I have been very lucky to perform at venues such as Band on The Wall and Sony HQ in London. I’m looking forward to representing the school! |
