Remote Learning

For students working from home, please read the following information below.

Online Lessons

During the COVID-19 pandemic Urmston Grammar has adopted the use of Microsoft Teams  for online learning. Any student joining lessons during a period of lockdown, or due to self-isolation, should use this platform to participate in lessons. Please see the user guide at the bottom of this page for additional information.

Accessing Resources on the School Network

Students in year 7, 8 and 9 (KS3) should only be using the Web Portal – you have access to all the work and document through the shared drives and Home Drives.

Students in years 10, 11, 12 & 13 (KS4 and KS5) should in the first instance use the Web Portal – The Remote Desktop System in only intended for use should you need to use software which is not available via the internet or home.

Software such as 2D Design, 123D Maker, Cubase

Instructions on how to access the Web Portal and how to save work can be found here.

Remote Desktop Services in a Web Browser

Once logged via a web browser, click on the link for Urmston Grammar RDS and you will get a window asking to allow access to local resources – click Allow and then Remote Desktop will then launch from within a Web Browser.

If you have any technical issues please email and we will respond as quickly as possible during the day between 9am and 3pm

Many thanks
