science week day 2

Optical learning opportunity for our Year 10 students

It's Day 2 of British Science Week at UGS, and after yesterday's phenomenal Year 7 Science Fair and Year 11 drone-flying workshop, today at lunchtime there was a special scientific enrichment opportunity for our Year 10 students.

Led by Mr Mumford, our Year 10s investigated and examined the external and internal structure of the eye and how its parts work together.

This engaged our students in learning not only about eye anatomy but life processes, and about how the eye works to form and create images from incoming light.

Another fantastic extracurricular hands-on learning opportunity for our students, with lots more planned for tomorrow, including: the KS3 scientific scavenger hunt, the timer challenge, making a trebuchet, and dissection.
