building bridges to learning
Today Science Club road-test their engineering skills!
In another exciting week for Year 7 Science Club, today they were challenged with working as a team on a feat of engineering.
Our young scientists enthusiastically fielded their ideas in order to come up with a design for a bridge that would transport the (mini) cars across the gulf between the desks of the laboratory.
This required group evaluation of the equipment available and collaboration on a design plan.
Before the big build and ultimate road-test of the construction!
Another great week of fun extracurricular learning, giving our Year 7 students not only the opportunity to put scientific principles into practice, but to develop teamwork, planning and communication skills.
Really well done all, with huge thanks as ever to Science Club staff leads Mrs Walsh, Dr Bethell, and Mr Sharp.
We look forward to sharing next week's Science Club news!
