let's sing!

At UGS, we are always delighted to listen to the voice of our student body, and no more so than at what has become a very special date on our school calendar: Let's Sing!

Taking place in our Main Hall, which was decorated with some of the lovely hand-produced posters designed by our Year 7s, the evening of song opened with a whole year group performance of Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time, expertly orchestrated and conducted by Ms Langham and Mr Harrison:

It was then time to hear 7U pay tribute to the Rocketman, with Elton John's I'm Still Standing:

Followed by 7M's performance of Adele's haunting Bond tune Skyfall; 7R channelling Chris Martin with Coldplay's Viva La Vida; 7T rocking One Republic's I Ain't Worried; and 7S's very poignant rendition of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know:

The grand finale was a whole-year group performance of Natasha Bedingfield's Unwritten, complete with epic synchronised manoeuvres:

As well as a fantastic showcase of singing talent, the evening marks a wonderful celebration of how Year 7 have already come together as a cohort, and as a part of our school community.

And Let's Sing presents our students with another fantastic opportunity not only to joyously demonstrate our core values of pride, participation and empathy, but to make UGS memories that will last a lifetime.
