chief scout gold award for will & arlo

So proud of Year 9s Will & Arlo as they earn prestigious Scout award!
We are delighted to share news that, over the summer, 2 of our Year 9 students - Will and Arlo 9M - were awarded the highest possible accolade: the Chief Scout Gold award. This takes 3 years to earn and is presented in recognition and reward of true scouting perseverance and commitment.
What makes Will and Arlo's achievement still more special is that they received their award at the conclusion of a trip to the majestic environs of Switzerland, and at the largest scout centre in Europe - the Kandersteg International Scout Centre.
In what was a truly incredible opportunity, Will and Arlo took a 27 coach trip through Europe, finally arriving in the stunningly scenic Adelboden.
They were able to enjoy a boat trip to Interlaken, and a visit to Oberhofen castle, and they particularly enjoyed a cable car trip to Schilthorn, which is famous for featuring in iconic scenes in the James Bond film Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Additionally, they were able to take part in zip wires over the mountains:
Glacier walking:
And trips to the simply amazing outdoor pool:
But in true scouting spirit, they also engaged in chores like cooking and cleaning!
The culmination and grand finale to the trip was, however, when Will and Arlo were presented with the Chief Scout Gold award at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre:
A true honour and very well-deserved! Really well done both, we could not be more proud, and with huge thanks to Will, Arlo and families for sharing this amazing news and the stunning photographs.
