ATHLETICS: PRIDE AND PARTICIPATION PARAMOUNT

 PE teachers, Miss Salisbury and Mr. Hines, have expressed great pride in Urmston Grammar students from years 7. 8 ad 9 who put in some outstanding performances at the Girls' Trafford Schools Athletics tournament on Wednesday afternoon this week.

Particular accolades go to Princess, in Year 7, and Maria in Year 8.  Competing against girls from 14 schools, Princess achieved first place in the 200 metres sprint, while Maria was first in her javelin throwing event.

Also worthy of mentioning are Year 7 students Isabelle, who came second in 800 metres (also achieving a personal best), and Sophie who came 5th out of 14 in her 800-metre race.  In Year 8, Mia same second in her 100 metres heat; and Isabella came fourth in the high jump.  In year 9, Connie came second in the javelin; Mia came 4th in 1500 metres; and Imogen came 4th in the shot put.

A massive well done to all!  You were "amazing!"
