this week's house achievers

And end of Half Term Celebratory House Assembly!

We approach the end of another busy half term for school and for our houses, with a great many events, competitions and initiatives having taken place for our students to participate in.

Before we share news about the special House Assembly that celebrated all the achievements of our students during this half term, it's time firstly to recognise the students who have been awarded the highest amount of house points in their year groups over the last week.

Pictured above this morning are just three of our highly commended students from this week: Leo 7T, Mariyah 7S, and Srikrish 7M. A special shout out to Leo, who won the Year 7 House Design a Birthday Card competition for May with a truly inspired creative design. The birthday cards created by our students will be distributed to the incoming Year 7 cohort from September, a lovely gesture from our Year 7s and Head of Year Miss Harding.

The full list of this week's high house point awardees is below, with examples of some of the achievements for which they have been commended:

End of Half Term House Assembly

This was a fantastic celebration of all that has taken place this half-term, and all that the students have achieved both individually and collectively in order to be awarded points for their houses, including:

Interhouse Chess Tournament: winners Orme & Mersey

Year 7 Design a Birthday Card competition: winner Leo 7T - Oak

House Reading Champions: Asfer 7R Orme & Poppy 7T Mersey

Interhouse Sports Day 2: overall winners: Mersey

Celebrations of our weekly House Achievers and of individual high-point winners within each of Brilliant Bradfield, Marvellous Mersey, Outstanding Orme & Oak, and Park's Powerhouses

The assembly also took the opportunity to look forward to House events that are planned for next Half Term, including our whole school Sports Day, and a brand new House reading challenge. And the results of the House Spring into Reading Challenge and Sherlock Holmes Day short story competition are pending, watch this space!

As the Easter Term ended, Orme took top standing in the House League. There is still a great deal to play for for our Houses; watch this space for updates on how they progress, and for news of who will reign supreme as the final term ends!
