our d of E students train for bronze award

Outdoor learning & praise from the public as our Year 10 D of E students spend the weekend in the Peak District!
This weekend - and what a glorious weekend in which to do it - 73 of our Year 10 students are training for their Bronze D of E award at beautifully scenic Gradbach in the Peak District.
As Mrs Chadwick - just one of the accompanying staff members - is delighted to report:
Our students have been working in groups with instructors to gain the practical and navigation skills that they will need for their expedition in June.
There has been beautiful weather, lots of learning in the great outdoors, and compliments from members of the public, who are out walking, about how friendly and well-mannered our students are.
All the students are heading out for a more challenging walk today.
Keep up the great work all and enjoy the rest of today!
With huge thanks to all the staff supporting the students this weekend, to Mrs Chadwick for sharing the great news and photos, and to Mrs Walker for capturing the beautiful Peak District sunset imaged below - we could almost be there!
