our Year 1o pse ambassadors impress again!

So proud of our Year 10s as they deliver fantastic PHSE lessons to Year 7

A cohort of our Year 10 students have been working with Head of Student Development Miss Murray on developing the PSE Ambassador Programme, which launched at the start of the year as a brand new UGS student leadership opportunity.

The objective is to equip our student ambassadors with the knowledge and skills to deliver PSHE lessons to Key Stage 3: this not only builds their leadership, teamwork and public speaking skills, but equips them with an invaluable experience of teaching, while acting as role models to our younger students.

It also effectively develops relationships across the whole school community, and compounds our core UGS values of Pride, Participation and Empathy.

This morning, we were delighted to see the ambassadors in action again, and they are pictured above and below confidently and maturely delivering their sessions.

The PHSE theme today focused on the dangers of alcohol, and our ambassadors each taught a Year 7 form.

Evangeline & Mia teach 7M

The lesson covered the physical and psychological effects and consequences of alcohol consumption on the body, on individuals, and on communities and society, and addressed how support can be accessed.

Our ambassadors impressively concluded the lesson with an overview of learning outcomes, and successfully led Year 7 in reflections on all that they had learnt and discussed.

Really well done, you are an inspiration to us all, and we cannot wait to share updates on how our PSE Ambassadors progress!
