not only our students enjoyed the sunshine at ugs during lunchtime today

Visitor to our pond as our students enjoy a sunny lunchbreak

As our Year 10s started their Mock exams today, and many were busy during the lunch break revising for the Maths paper this afternoon, others took the opportunity to enjoy the all too rare burst of sunshine outside, including this charming chap who was spotted merrily hopping around our pond before taking a dip.

He is pictured as the pond was in the process of being cleared and tidied by Science technicians Mr Sharp and Mrs Yarwood, who are keen to optimise the habitat for the tadpoles that we currently have in residence.

We can't wait to watch the tadpoles thrive, and to enjoy the spectacle of nature and science in action on our grounds.

Dr Zebedee has also been busy making a start on weeding and planting in the garden area near our pond, and, as you can see, the first of some delightful woodland forget-me-nots are peeping through (suitably UGS colour-coded!), and ready to take hold and grow as the area is cleared.
