German music contest

Our Year 10 GCSE German students enrich their learning with some classics!

Year 10 have been studying the topic of music as part of their GCSE studies and have taken part in a German music contest. It was an excellent opportunity for students to see and experience German in action and to learn more about the culture of German-speaking countries.

Students chose a German-language song they liked for a recent class competition and the most popular from each class went through to the full Year 10 competition today.

They chose from a big range of genres, ranging from very modern songs, such as Kauta: 'Unsichtbarand Olmara: 'Wackelkontaktto memorable 80's classics, with the most popular being Nena's '99 Luftballons' and 'Irgendwie Irgendwo Irgendwann'.

Head of German Mr Cummins shares that students were really pleased to be able to understand a lot of the lyrics!

Well done all!
