Year 12 enjoy the sunshine on their assessed expedition

While in the heatwave this weekend in Manchester there were thousands on an expedition to get to a certain momentous event in Heaton Park (and I was amongst them!), in Cumbria, our very own Year 12s were on a mission to successfully complete their assessed expedition to qualify for their Silver D of E award.

Arriving on Thursday, they set up camp in scenic Satterthwaite.

It was then time to flex their outdoor skills and navigate their way to camp in Ambleside.

There was another bright start on Saturday before the final hike to completion.

Really well done all on a huge team effort in the oppressive heat, we could not be more proud.

With huge thanks to Dr McPartland for leading and for the photography and to all the staff who supported the trip and who facilitate this wonderful opportunity for our students.
