Year 7 visit the Sikh Gurdwara
This week all of our Year 7 RE students visited the Sikh Gurdwara in Manchester. The visits have developed and enriched their learning and helped them to answer their current topic of study question: should we sell religious buildings to feed the starving?
It was a fantastic opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and customs of the Holy building.
The visit began with a talk on the religion of Sikhism.
Followed by a guided tour of the building that ended with a delicious vegetarian meal known as the Langar.
It has been a truly unique cultural and spiritual experience for all involved; with huge thanks to our hosts and to our RE department for facilitating this wonderful learning opportunity for our students.
