epq evening

A fantastic celebration of independent learning & academic curiosity
Yesterday evening we were proud to host our EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) evening and enjoy a broad range of presentations from our Year 12 students on their areas of research.
Introduced by EPQ staff lead Mr Connell (pictured below):
Our Year 12 students presented the culmination of their research into a wide variety of academic fields.
These included medicine, dentistry, science, history, philosophy, ethics, psychology, sociology, sport, religion, language, literature, AI, energy, culture, society, ethnicity, the media, and technology.
The students articulately presented not only their findings, but their methodologies, evaluative analysis of their sources, the skills they gained in undertaking the EPQ, the challenges they faced, their successes, and also advisories for any prospective EPQ students.
All were brilliant, engaging superbly with the audience and astutely fielding questions.
As Mr Connell observed, the EPQ is not only an invaluable qualification that is highly regarded by both universities and employers, but it opens up key pathways to success; it is also academically and personally enriching and rewarding for all who undertake it, stimulating both curiosity and independence in critical thinking.
With huge thanks to our Year 12 students for all their hard work and for delivering an intellectually stimulating evening; to Mr Connell and all the staff who have supported the students with the EPQ; and to the parents, carers, staff and students who attended the presentations.
