brilliant author visit

We have been delighted today to welcome author and scriptwriter Daniel Dockery, who delivered a fantastically interactive presentation to our Year 7 students on the art of adventure story writing and his brilliant Wendington Jones series of books.

Year 7 were given a unique opportunity to participate in the sort of decisions that authors have to make as they write regarding plot twists, settings and characterisation.

Students eagerly volunteered to try out props and decide together on story lines.

They were inspired to ask lots of questions about creative writing and about Daniel's books, and to meet him at the end to find out more.

In a great opportunity for our students, Daniel has also offered to guest judge a prize house adventure story writing competition and will provide professional feedback on all entries.
