careers in architecture

Inspirational presentation for our Year 7 students from visiting architects Jessica & Sarah

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Jessica and Sarah from MCAU Architects who kindly gave their time to present to our Year 7 students on careers in architecture and pathways into the profession.

Jessica and Sarah gave insights into their own journeys into the sector, current and changing pathways into the career, the stages of the route to full qualification, and the fascinating day-to-day life of an architect.

Our students also learnt about the projects that Jessica and Sarah are currently working on in the North-West, and were given invaluable advice on career development and progression, and about the importance of trusting your own abilities, investing time and effort, and of never being afraid to ask questions.

Our Year 7 students were keen to learn more during the Q & A at the end, and asked lots of questions about the qualifications required, the different stages of training, and about related careers.

With huge thanks to Jessica and Sarah for giving their time to inspire Year 7, and to our careers department for organising another fantastic opportunity for our students to engage with representatives from professions that they aspire to work in.
