netball success

Fantastic results for our netball teams on their PGL residential weekend!

On Friday, 46 of our KS3 netball students and team members headed off with Mrs Chadwick, Mrs Hiller and Miss Devenney Lees (pictured above front L-R with the girls) for their PGL netball residential and a weekend of England Netball coaching, tournaments and sports activities.

On Saturday, all of our teams played 4 games each, and 2 of our Year 9 teams even played each other!

The girls also got to take part in a range of other sports activities, including archery:

And the high ropes:

Sunday was a huge success for our teams: after they all competed in round 2, our Year 7 teams, one of our Year 8 teams and our Year 9s got through to the semi-final, with our 8s and 9s making it to the final.

They achieved truly impressive success: our Year 8s took Gold and were undefeated all weekend!

Our Year 9s took Silver.

And our Year 7s took Bronze.

Mrs Hiller proudly reports that all our girls were "absolutely brilliant. They demonstrated excellent teamwork skills, courage and determination. They have been a real credit to UGS".

Really well done all, you are superstars! With huge thanks to Mrs Hiller, Miss Devenney Lees and Mrs Chadwick for supporting and organising this wonderful opportunity for our students.
