geography field trip day 2

Our Year 10 geographers head to Criccieth for coastal investigation!

The adverse meteorological conditions have not stemmed the progress of our Geography field trip as today the students and staff descended on Criccieth for a day of physical geography and application of learning.

The students engaged in data collection, beach profiling and rock measurement.

The coastal town is known for its sea defences, and our geographers were tasked with an overview and ranking of the defences using a bipolar scale, ranking them in terms of specific factors, such as the cost of maintenance.

They will also explore Black Rock Roads in Porthmadog, which boasts a wealth of beach resources and caves.

Fantastic surroundings for a really great day of enriched outdoor learning, with more to look forward to tomorrow!

Well done all, with huge thanks to all the staff supporting the trip.
