a brilliant start

Fantastic launch to the new half term as we celebrate lots of success for our students!
We were delighted today to welcome our students back after the half-term break and what better way to launch a new half-term than with not one but three successes to celebrate!
Riaan 7U
In our lead picture and below is talented gymnast Riann who competed at the Men’s Artistic National Setworks Championships 2026 in Telford over the weekend, representing the North West region. He did incredibly well, finishing 5th in the whole country, with just 0.3 points separating him from 4th place! To make the weekend even more special, the North West team also won the overall Team Gold medal, finishing 1st in the country. This is a massive achievement for Riaan and the team and we send huge congratulations!

We’re also really excited that Riaan has been invited to attend testing for the GB Development Gymnastics Squad on 13th November. It’s a truly fantastic opportunity for him, and we send him the very best of luck for selection to the squad!
We join Riaan's family in being incredibly proud of how hard he’s worked and the dedication and resilience he’s demonstrated, especially while balancing hours of gymnastics training with school.
It’s truly wonderful to see his efforts paying off, and we look forward to sharing updates on all that he achieves!
Sebastian 10S
Huge congratulations also to Sebastian 10S who, after undertaking a successful trial, has been selected to join Sale Sharks U15 Player Development Group programme – Manchester. This really is a fantastic achievement. Well done!

Sebastian has been playing rugby for Eccles RFC since he was 7 and also plays for the Trafford Schools Rugby team; he's a ‘back’ and primarily plays no.10 (fly half), but can play in multiple positions across the backline, and we know that he can't wait for the hard work to start on this great opportunity with Sale Sharks! Very best of luck Sebastian, and we look forward to sharing updates!
Grace 8S
Last but by no means least, we're also incredibly proud of talented dancer Grace, who, on the weekend of 24/25th October, competed in her first national final for Sequence dancing. In a brilliant achievement, she came 4th for the Modern sequence and 7th in the classical

And this weekend, Grace also competed in the IDTA Northwest regionals with a new partner. She was amazing, finishing 2nd for Ballroom and 3rd for Latin!

Huge congratulations and well done to all. Keep up the amazing work!
