celebrating black history month

Brilliant event organised by our Cultural Society!

Cultural Society organised a fantastic celebration event at lunchtime yesterday for Black History Month (lead picture).

Students from across the year groups presented either inspirational figures from Black History or their own heritage, such as Anita (above), who had composed a beautiful poem on Nigeria, and Praise (below) who gave an insightful presentation on Newanyuruwa:

And Fatma 7U who proudly shared her Pakistani cultural heritage.

We're extremely proud of all of our speakers: Praise, Debbie, Hadassah, Anita, Fatma, William, Molly and Serena for their contributions to this celebratory and awareness-raising event.

But also to MC Jude for doing such a great job. Well done!

On Friday we look forward to a Wear Red day to support and fund-raise for charity Show Racism the Red Card on its 30th anniversary.

Cultural Society will also be holding a fund-raising bake sale for the charity, and we look forward to seeing lots of our students show their support.
