Kenya trip 2026

A group of our Year 12 and 13 students, accompanied by members of staff, Miss Lowe, Dr Richards, Mr Neale and Miss Devenney-Lees, have just completed a 10-day charitable trip to Kenya with African Adventures.

They flew via Ethiopia, reaching Nairobi on Monday 13th July, where they spent one night before heading to Nakuru.

On the way, they were fortunate to not only be able to stop off at the majestic East Rift Valley viewpoint (lead picture) but also to visit Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant sanctuary, where they learnt all about the Trust's fantastic conservation and rescue work.

And they enjoyed the lovely opportunity to see the 1-year-old elephant Kipekee (pictured in the middle below), who was adopted by one of our students, Zoe, before the trip, and who was rescued by Sheldrick Trust from the Masai Mara.

It was then time to begin their voluntary work, helping to make a difference by participating in either teaching activities at local schools, Jubilee and Andy Star, or assisting with cooking, teaching and playing with the children.

Our students and staff also worked hard on painting and replenishing the murals, with Dr Richards revealing a secret artistic side!

During the trip, the group also hugely enjoyed the opportunity to go on safari at Lake Nakaru.

As well as visiting the Equator Line.

And the majestic Thompson Falls.

The final day at each of the schools was spent celebrating together:

Sharing donations and bidding sad farewells to new-found friends after an exhilarating and life-long memorable trip!
