sports day 2026

A brilliant day at Longford Park Stadium!

It has been a fantastic annual sports day, where the feeling of school community and house team spirit shone as brightly as the sun, and our students proudly competed in their house colours.

There were over 100 events for our students to watch and take part in, with 600 competitors from years 7-10 battling it out to win points for their houses in field and track.

Including 100 -1500m races and sprints.

Relays:

Long Jump:

Discus:

Javelin:

And shot put:

And in fantastic achievements, several school records were broken. Huge congratulations to Jeremi 8T who broke the Javelin record in the morning with 25.24m (smashing a 2001 previously held record)!

Ivan Year 9 went on to equalise on a 2017 record in 800m with a phenomenal time of 2.17! And Year 9 Archie smashed the 100m record with a time of 11.89. Really well done!

Not to mention that new records were made in House relays, which are brand new events for this year: in Girls (all years) 4x 100m, Mersey triumphed with 1:01:50. And in Boys (all years) 4 x 100m, Oak smashed it with 55:59. Brilliant!!

However ... for the grand finale result and news about which House succeeded in topping the leader board on Sports Day ... we must all wait with bated breath until the end of term House Assembly!!

We're so proud of all of our students and their sporting and team efforts, with huge thanks to Mrs Evans and team PE for all their hard work organising this fantastic UGS day!
