supercurricular lecture

Novel writing: inspiration to manuscript. A great way to end our programme for this year!

This evening we were delighted to host the last in our series of supercurricular lectures for this academic year, delivered by Miss Crean on: "Novel writing: inspiration to manuscript".

A published author, Miss Crean gave us a fascinating insight into the creative writing process from inception through to pathways to publication.

Covering:

  • What is a Novel?
  • Developing concept
  • Characterisation
  • Narrative structures
  • Subplots
  • Inspiration
  • Strategies for overcoming Writer's Block
  • The editing process
  • Paths to Publishing

It was fantastic to see so many of our students, parents and carers in attendance in what was a great opportunity to hear first hand from a published author.

And we look forward to announcing our brand-new programme of supercurricular lectures for 2026/7 in September!
