Today we were delighted to welcome award-winning author Jenny Pearson to deliver a presentation and Q & A to our Year 9 students.

Jenny has just released her fantastic new Young Adult thriller, Drop Dead Famous, which is currently Waterstone's Young Adult Book of the Month, and she shared her career pathway from school into professional authorship.

A former PE and Primary School teacher, Jenny's first published books were for middle school and both won and were short and long-listed for several awards.

Jenny now writes for Young Adults, and it was fantastic for Year 9 to hear first-hand about stages of the writing and publication process and about what inspires Jenny's themes and characterisation.

It was great to see our students so engaged and asking lots of questions at the end. There was also the opportunity to meet Jenny after the event and buy signed copies of her book.
