pride participation & empathy

Our students continue to do us proud!

Today a cohort of our Year 7 girls (lead picture and below) were selected to represent UGS at the Girls' Tag Rugby tournament at Salford Community Stadium.

Miss Sellers shares that they made an amazing effort and worked really hard, as well as having lots of fun in this beautiful weather!

Year 12 students

This afternoon, our Year 12 students who worked with Media Cubs UK and Trafford Councillor Joanne Harding on the hugely impactful Trafford International Women's Day 2026 media campaign enjoyed a special celebration of its huge success: 400k+ views already! We could not be more proud of everyone involved, with huge thanks to Media Cubs and Joanne for collaborating and helping to create this wonderful opportunity for our students.

Debating Club

KS3 members of our Debating Club took advantage of this week's beautiful weather to enjoy their first meeting of the new term outside.

With staff lead Mr Warnes, they are busy honing their skills ahead of hosting Wellington school on 14th May in what promises to be a hard-fought contest.

We look forward to sharing updates!

Volleyball heroes

Last but by no means least, this weekend please join us in tuning in and supporting our Volleyball teams, who, in an amazing achievement, have made it to the National Cup Finals that are being held at Loughborough University.

Our U16 Boys will compete against Leeds at 11am on Saturday; and our U15 Boys, who are defending champions after last year's incredible victory, are seeking back-to-back glory against Richmond on Sunday at 11am.

The games will be live-streamed via this link:
