house assembly

A celebration of all our house achievements this term!

This morning our final House assembly of the term took place, and it was a wonderful celebration not only of all the house events, challenges and initiatives that have taken place and that our students have participated in, but of all the academic, extracurricular and community achievements that they have been awarded house points for.

Mrs Chadwick began by celebrating the students who shone in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators: well done to Year 11s Kanaan and Shanese; Year 12s Ilinca, Katie, and Owen; Year 9s Poppy and Izzy; Year 8s Sanvika, Ella and Liam; and Year 7 Charlie.

Our House leaders then profiled the many extracurricular opportunities that our students have taken part in and for which they have been awarded a huge amount of house points, including: the English Schools' Chess Challenge; International Women's Day; British Science Week:

Library and LRC challenges such as LGBT+ HIstory Month wiring challenge, the Daniel Dockery adventure story writing competition, and World Book Day events; Mr Tabor's Football Managers of the Month; and our Interhouse sports tournaments.

And we are, of course, looking ahead to our big Sports Day on 3rd July!

There followed a profile, celebration and prize-giving of our highest house point awardees in each of the houses: Bradfield, Mersey, Oak, Orme and Park.

And of our Year Group Champions, a huge well done to:

Year 7: Evie (Mersey), Sophie (Park) & Nell (Orme)

Year 8: Rory (Park), Holly (Oak) & Charmaine (Orme)

Year 9: Beth (Bradfield), Poppy (Mersey) & Srikrish (Orme)

Year 10: Faiyed (Bradfield), Tom (Bradfield) & Ammar (Park)/Charlie (Park)

Year 11: Siya (Orme), Millie (Orme) & Alex (Park)

Our Sixth Form students will have their very own house assemblies and celebrations at the start of next week!

It was then time for the BIG reveal of who tops our leaderboard at the end of term, accompanied by a very fitting live drum roll from Year 12 Aarav ... huge congratulations to ... BRADFIELD!!

Last but by no means least, the assembly played out with an epic finale from talented musicians Aarav, Garcia, Will and Oscar with their knock-out rendition of Iron Maiden's The Trooper.

Well done to all of our students for all of their achievements and for making us so proud, and huge thanks to our house team, prefects and musicians for a truly wonderful assembly!
