We're excited to celebrate Science Week 2026 and what better way to start than with Year 7's Science Fair at lunchtime today in our Main Hall.

This year's theme for Science week is Curiosity: what is your question?

And our Year 7s have truly impressed us all with their enthusiasm for research and the development, design and presentation of their wide-ranging projects across all fields of science.

It was also lovely to see so many students and staff from our school community eager to show their support and learn more.

The grand finale was the epic Mentos volcano, demonstrating what happens when the sweets are dropped into soda, triggering a rapid release of carbon dioxide that causes liquid to shoot into the air like a geezer: see the video (and lots more photographs) on our socials!

There is still a great deal more exciting scientific exploration to look forward to this week, including drone obstacle courses, scientifically-themed art workshops, dissection, making a trebuchet in DT, and the epic Flash Bang show. We can't wait!
