Today we have been delighted to welcome author Monique Turner to speak to our Year 8 students.

Monique's visit also complemented the start of our programme of events for National Careers Week as she shared her journey from school to becoming a published author and the pathway to realising her dream, after overcoming hurdles along the way.

Monique also discussed the importance of story-telling, of reading, and of managing online life, some of the core themes of her latest titles Island of Influencers and Sweet and Sour, that address issues surrounding social media usage, the perils of internet fame and AI content.

It was great to see our students so engaged and asking lots of questions during Monique's Q&A.

With huge thanks to Monique for taking time today to visit and inspire us all, and there are still a great many more events to look forward to this week in celebration of World Book Day - watch this space!
