national careers week

Launching with "Be Inspired" events for Year 8 today
It's National Careers week and to celebrate, our Head of Careers, Mrs Kinder and our CEIAG coordinator, Amy Marshall, have organised a programme of events.

This started today with "Be Inspired" workshops for our Year 8 students.

Firstly, they participated in a Careers speed networking session with visiting representatives from a huge variety of sectors and professions.

These included architecture, clinical psychology, I.T., finance, law, teaching, engineering, environmental consultancy, quantity surveying, recruitment and town planning.

It was a fantastic first-hand opportunity for our students to directly find out and ask more about working in these professions.

Year 8 then took part in a "Guess My Job" workshop. This involved meeting with four guest employers, and working out their jobs by asking a range of closed questions.

Not only really insightful, but lots of fun!

Our students also attended a presentation by Louise from Trafford Leisure on pathways into apprenticeships.

A hugely enriching and inspirational day for our students, with lots moe careers activities planned in form and lessons throughout the week.
Huge thanks to the visiting representatives for giving their time to inspire our students.
