steps to success

Our latest Year 11 Success Assembly, Science Club and more!

This week's Year 11 Success Assembly was delivered by Mr Panter (lead picture) and focused on RE and effective revision strategies including cued and free recall, blurting, and post-mock reflection. Mr Panter also profiled the impactful contribution that marginal gains and incremental changes can make to cumulative success. Year 11 left inspired and ready to start work on this week's Success task that focuses on RE.

Following Year 9 Options Day, today the cohort had the opportunity to take part in a workshop delivered by our CEIAG coordinator Miss Marshall (with 9U pictured below). This focused on planning for post-14 pathways and the careers provision and resources available on the Unifrog platform.

Also, this week, learning sped along at Science Club (pictured below) with a fun workshop on Newton's 3rd Law, where our scientists got the opportunity to build a hovercraft using balloons, CDs and more, while exploring the effect of friction on movement.

The grand finale was a hovercraft race on our Science corridor!

Last but by no means least, our Year 10 GCSE geographers (pictured below) have been busy refreshing their map skills and discovering the natural and physical features of Manchester, Newport and Chinnor!
