festively fantastic

Seasonally spectacular end to another brilliant UGS term!

As our winter term draws to a close, it was wonderful today to come together as a school community for not one, but two, lovely Christmas assemblies.

Starting this morning with a dedicated Sixth Form Assembly for our Year 12 and 13 students, Mr Kennedy-Fowler launched proceedings by reflecting on all that our sixth form students had achieved, not only academically, but also in terms of their extracurricular and enrichment activities, and their contribution to our school and the wider community.

Bradfield House leader Mrs Chadwick then looked back on all the great house events and initiatives that our Sixth Form house prefects and students had both organised and contributed to. And there were house awards for our highest house point winners.

Head of Sixth Mrs Mangham-Dewhurst shared her pride in our KS5 students and their UGS journey so far this term, and looked forward to 2026 and all that it promises for the cohort.

The grand finale was the now traditional skit from the Sixth Form Prefect team, well worth the wait!

It was then the turn of Years 7-11 to enjoy their whole school assembly, which opened with a fabulous performance from our Junior Choir.

Mr Kennedy-Fowler congratulated our students on all that they had achieved this term and their consistently superb demonstration of our core values of pride, participation and empathy.

House leaders were then delighted to hand out well-deserved awards and commendations to our highest house-point winners. Before the final ultimate reveal that Bradfield House finishes the term at the top of the leaderboard. Well done Bradfield!

A truly lovely end to a hard-working term; it only remains to wish everyone in our wider UGS school community a truly wonderful Christmas, seasonal break, and a very happy New Year.

And we're looking forward already to seeing our students back in school on 5th January 2026 for a whole new term!
