Year 9 compete in the annual D+T National Schools Challenge!

On Friday, a group of our Year 9 students spent the day competing in the 2025 D+T National Schools Challenge, supported by our Design Technology staff Mr Barber and Mr Reid.

This is an annual challenge for Year 9 students and the brief is that, in teams of four, they design a solution to a real world problem based on a theme.

The three themes for 2025-6 are: Join, Reimagine and Rest, and the specific mandate for our students was to design a product that will educate pre-school children and encourage them to socialise.

Within one day, the students were required to formulate ideas and develop them.

Then produce a 3D model.

And finally, to present their project.

Our Year 9s came up with some fantastic designs.

And our in-house winners will be entered into the national final. Very best of luck all and we look forward to sharing updates!
