mun success

Our MUN students make us proud at MGSMUN 2025!

This weekend our MUN students from Year 11, 12 and 13 attended Manchester Grammar School to take part in MGSMUN 2025.

Model United Nations simulations engage hundreds of thousands of students each year, helping them to learn more about the principles of the UN and how it functions, and participating develops and progresses the research and debating skills of all who take part.

An inspiring opening message from Matthew Turbitt opened the ceremony, reminding students of the importance of MUN and of its key theme for this year: flourish, while outlining the core pillars of society that are needed to overcome the barriers that prevent human beings from reaching their full potential.

Our students served on and debated in committees, including Security, Historical, DISEC, Political, EnviroSci, Justice, Human Rights, Health, EcoFin and Youth, throughout the day,

Culminating in the Grand assembly:

And a grand finale Closing Ceremony, at which we were delighted to see 2 of our students, Lara and Mobeen, highly commended, and Year 12 Max commended.

We are so proud of all of our MUN students; they are great ambassadors for UGS and expertly practised and developed their diplomacy, leadership, public speaking and team-building skills.

With huge thanks to MGS for hosting a superb conference.
