Today we were delighted to welcome author and scriptwriter Daniel Dockery to deliver a fantastically interactive workshop on creative writing to Year 7.

Daniel invited our students to step up to take on the role of author and lead characters to see where their creative journey would take them.

Year 7 were given a unique opportunity to participate in the sort of decisions that authors have to make as they write regarding plot twists, settings and characterisation.

Year 7 eagerly volunteered to try out props and decide together on story lines. It was fantastic to see them so engaged and asking a great many questions at the end about the writing process, Daniel's career and journey into authorship, and the inspiration behind his writing and Wendington Jones series of books.

Daniel also launched a prize adventure story writing competition for our students that he will kindly guest judge, and we cannot wait to share updates on the stories that our entrants write.
