6th form open evening

Fantastic to welcome so many Year 11 students, parents & carers!

We were delighted yesterday evening to host our Sixth Form Open Evening, a wonderful opportunity for Year 11 students, parents and carers to learn more about what makes learning at UGS so inspiring and rewarding.

The evening opened with presentations from Mr Kennedy-Fowler and Head of Sixth Form Mrs Mangham-Dewhurst, and from Head Boy Zane and Head Girl Rahmat, pictured below, who both transferred to our Sixth Form from other schools following their GCSEs, and gave inspirational talks about the defining moments of their UGS 6th form experience.

Not only teachers and staff who "genuinely care", but the many opportunities to develop and grow both academically and personally: "UGS gives you a platform that drives you ... what defines it is the type of person that it shapes you into being ... giving you resilience, pride and self-belief".

We were proud to share and showcase our extensive Key Stage 5 academic, enrichment and pastoral provision; and our best ever A level results this summer.

There were presentations from our Sixth Form Leadership Team on Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science and Oxbridge programmes, and on our EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) provision.

There was also the opportunity for our guests to attend subject-specialist talks from our dedicated staff on the wide range of A level courses we offer.

And to meet our fantastic cohort of Sixth Form students.

With huge thanks to all who attended this evening, and we very much look forward to seeing you again in the future.
