We are proud to join the nation in honouring Remembrance

On Friday, Mr Kennedy-Fowler and the Senior Prefect team delivered a poignant assembly to commemorate Remembrance week, respectfully observed by our students.

And on Remembrance Sunday, we were delighted that many of our students participated in parades in Trafford and across Greater Manchester, representing and joining with the Scout and Cadet organisations of which they are proud members.

Today, as a school community, we honoured Remembrance Day and joined the nation in respectfully observing the two-minute silence to remember and reflect upon the service and sacrifices of all those who fought to preserve our freedom, peace and unity.

And we are especially proud of Will 10M pictured above, who gave his time this morning to movingly play the Last Post at Urmston Cenotaph, earning well-deserved praise and appreciation from veterans and members of our local community; as one member of the public observed, Will is a credit to UGS.

Will also provided the musical accompaniment to our Remembrance Assembly: he is a truly upstanding member of our school community who demonstrates our core values of Pride, Participation, and Empathy, and we thank him for the invaluable contribution he has made to honouring Remembrance at UGS and in the wider community.
