black history month competition winners

A celebration today of our entrants & winners!

To celebrate Black History Month, we organised a House Writing competition, inviting students to research and produce infographics on inspirational figures from black history and contemporary culture, society, politics and sport.

We were impressed that students from across the year groups worked hard to produce entries on a wide range of figures, from Katherine Johnson, Rosa Parks, Ralph Bunche, Harriet Tubman, Serena Williams, Maya Angelou, Michelle Agyemang, Nelson Mandela, Sam King, and Martin Luther King to Motsi Mabuse, to name just some.

Mr Kennedy-Fowler, Deputy Head Mr Regan, and our Pastoral Leaders and Form tutors were delighted to join a special celebration at break today in our Conference Room for our entrants, and it was incredibly hard to choose winners as standards were so high; but huge congratulations to overall winner Zoha 7T for a fantastic compendium on a wide range of figures, to Kara 8S on Katherine Johnson, and to Zac 7M on Nelson Mandela.

Really well done all, and we were delighted to award house points to all entrants for doing us so proud!
