green careers week

Our Sixth Form geographers take part in a fantastic workshop on urban planning
Today our Year 12 and 13 geographers were inspired to think about their career choices and paths when they participated in a presentation and workshop delivered by landscape architects Davor and Ashleigh from LDA design as part of Trafford Green Careers week.

Our geographers learnt about what kind of jobs feed into a construction design team, and they then enjoyed the opportunity to brainstorm their ideas as they explored and examined photos and maps of three known Manchester public spaces,

They were encouraged to reflect upon and present their findings on how the spaces could potentially be transformed and improved over a 5-10 year period.

This gave our students an invaluable insight into urban planning, design and project management, and all impressed with their engagement and enthusiasm for the workshop.

With huge thanks to Ashleigh and Davor for giving their time to inspire our students today and for providing a great opportunity for them to interactively learn about and explore the many and varied facets of careers in this sector.
