Fantastic way to finish a busy first full week back!
We are extremely proud to announce that we have been placed in the top ten of the best state secondary schools nationally in The Telegraph newspaper's school rankings table. This is a huge achievement, and it is truly fantastic to receive such positive recognition for all the hard work and achievements of our students and staff.

This week there has, as ever, been a great deal taking place at UGS. This morning, Deputy Head Mr Regan delivered an inspirational whole school assembly ahead of Black History Month (lead picture), raising awareness of its core messages and themes, while celebrating key diverse figures from history and culture, and our wonderfully diverse whole school community. Mr Regan also discussed how, as a school community, we can embrace and move forward with BHM's key values of resilience and progress, and strive towards standing firm in power and pride.
