extracurricular & enrichment

Our students are already enthusiastically embracing opportunities to participate!

Our new extracurricular programme for 2025/6 is in the process of being finalised, but opportunities to get involved in a variety of fields are already available to our students.

We have already seen a significant number take part in our extracurricular sports clubs, and yesterday saw the new academic year launch of our ever popular Year 7 Books and Biscuits Reading Club, with some of our new participants pictured above during lunch yesterday in the Reading Room.

It's a lovely opportunity for Year 7 to enrich their reading journey at UGS, and we look forward to sharing news on their progress.

Also, yesterday after school, our Performing Arts department launched their search for cast members for the 2026 UGS production of Little Shop of Horrors.

Huge numbers of students from across the year groups eagerly waited in line in the cloisters for their call, and we were delighted to see many of our new Year 7 cohort amongst them, with just some pictured below excitedly waiting their turn.

Our productions are always a glorious showcase of the talents of our students and Little Shop of Horrors promises to be just as fantastic. Watch this space for updates!

Our comprehensive whole school extracurricular programme will be published soon, and we cannot wait to check in on all that our students achieve.
