celebration of achievement

A glorious recognition of the accomplishments of our students

It has been fantastic this evening to welcome so many parents and carers to our Celebration of Achievement.

A fantastic opportunity for our school community of staff, students, parents and carers to come together to celebrate the many academic, sporting, extracurricular and house accomplishments of our wonderful students.

There were awards for students from years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 in our many subject areas,

In addition to Head of Year awards, House awards, and Library and Supercurricular awards.

We were also treated to readings and reviews from our Year 12 students Dani and Connie.

As well as performances from Pete, Jess (both pictured below), Will and Jovie, a showcase of their performing arts, musical and public-speaking talents, proudly introduced by Assistant Head Mr Roberts.

Head Mrs Wall spoke movingly about her pride in our students and her drive and vision to inspire them to recognise, act upon and fulfil all their academic, sporting, artistic and personal strengths and potential.

Co-Head Mr Kennedy-Fowler shared an impressive overview of all that has taken place at UGS this year, including not only all that our students have achieved in a huge breadth of fields, but of the many enrichment opportunities that they have enjoyed: trips spanning the globe, visits, events, initiatives and competitions; in addition to the huge amount of fund-raising and community drives that our students have not only taken part in, but have organised themselves.

We could not be more proud of all that our students have achieved and of all that they have contributed to our school and to the local and wider community, and we are delighted that our parents and carers have had the opportunity to share in our celebration this evening.
