Diwali event

And launch of International Women's Day Art Project!
To celebrate ahead of Diwali tomorrow, yesterday our Cultural Society organised a craft workshop at lunchtime in the Reading Room.

Students were invited along to enjoy the opportunity to design patterns for diya lamps:

Or to make cards, and there were some fabulous designs!

Well done to everyone who participated in this lovely community event!
Purple Roses Charity Club
Yesterday also saw the launch of a fantastic project: our purple roses charity club, in support of Roses Against Violence and International Women’s Day.

As a school community, we have long been proud to support IWD and work with Trafford Council and partners, and this year, Fatimah 12M had the idea to involve students in helping to make 100 crochet roses to contribute to the planned 10,000 rose installation that will be displayed outside Trafford Town Hall on International Women’s Day 8th March 2027.

Fatimah taught the group how to make and crochet the roses and, with her and Mrs Unwin's support, they will meet every Friday lunchtime in A1 to work together on this brilliant cause.

Newcomers are welcome to join in at the next meeting, and we're incredibly proud of our students for coming together to work towards making a difference.
