let's sing!

Tonight marked a very special event on our school calendar: Year 7 Let's Sing!

We were treated to not one but two wonderful shows, during which our students performed songs spanning the decades and genres, starting with a stunning whole-year group performance of Toto's iconic Africa.

Then it was time for each form to perform their own individual song.

7U: Keane Somewhere Only We Know

7R: Dolly Parton 9-5

7M: Vance Joy Riptide

7S: Oasis Don't Look Back in Anger

7T: Tears for Fears Everybody wants to Rule the World

The grand finale was a joyously moving performance by the whole year group of Calum Scott's You Are the Reason, including a special section in sign language.

All of our students did us incredibly proud on a night that, as Mr Kennedy-Fowler observed, they will look back on as a key moment on their UGS journey, as so many of our students can fondly testify!

It's been wonderful to welcome our parents and carers, governors – and special guests Mr and Mrs Wall! - to this very special event.

With huge thanks to all of our wonderful performers, to all who attended, and, of course, to Mr Harrison and Mrs Glen for all their hard work making the magic happen, and to our pastoral staff and form tutors who supported the event.

Last but by no means least, huge congratulations to Eva 7U for this fabulous design for the event programme!
