year 11 visit oxford

And more in a busy few days!
Some of our Year 11 students enjoyed a visit to Corpus Christi College, Oxford finding out more about the college and the university, as well as benefiting from academic taster sessions in Philosophy and MRI scanners.

Head of Year Mr Gough shared his pride in the whole group for being superb ambassadors for UGS and for acquitting themselves well in all the day's sessions! With huge thanks to our hosts at Corpus Christi for welcoming our students and for a truly inspirational day.
School Council Representatives 2026/7
We're delighted to celebrate our newly appointed School Council representatives for 2026/7!

Not all of our new team could make the photo, but huge congratulations to all of the successful candidates on your appointment. The students each submitted a manifesto in application for this important role, and we were truly impressed by the high standard of entries, making it a very difficult decision to select the team.
We're incredibly proud of them all and look forward to seeing all that they achieve in representing our student voice and the ideas and suggestions of our student community, and in working with Mrs Crouch, our staff and our leadership team to make a difference at UGS.
Sports Success
Firstly, huge congratulations to our Year 7 Netball team who played their first fixture for UGS in a seeding tournament that will decide in which league they'll be placed for Trafford schools: fantastic play from all as they triumphed 17-1 and 6-4 in their matches, well done girls!

Our League position will be announced later this week & it looks very promising!
Secondly, this evening, our Year 7 girls' football team put in a fantastic performance in their match, winning 12-2.

A superb performance in very wet conditions! Well done girls!
