A brilliant beginning

We were delighted today to launch what promises to be another brilliant year at UGS, to welcome back our returning students, and to extend a very warm UGS welcome both to our new Year 7 cohort, who began their day with an introductory assembly in the theatre led by Mr Kennedy-Fowler and Assistant Head Mrs Rogers:

And to our new Year 12 students, who enjoyed an introduction to Sixth Form life and our core values from Head of Sixth Form Mrs Mangham-Dewhurst and Assistant Head of Sixth Form Mr Neale.

Our new students enjoyed meeting their pastoral leaders, our staff and each other, as well as our dedicated Year 7 prefects and Senior Prefect Team, before it was time to join our returning students for both Whole School assembly:

Finally, to end the day, it was time for our Year 12 students to enjoy the now legendary donut social, a great opportunity to get to know each other while enjoying some delicious treats!

And after a truly fantastic first day, this morning our new Year 7 students demonstrated that they have already settled brilliantly into UGS life by impressing their form tutors with superb engagement in their very first PSE lesson.
