end of year house assembly

A very special finale to another outstanding year at UGS!

What better way to end what has been a brilliant year at UGS than with a fantastic house celebration and awards assembly!

The celebrations opened with a blistering performance of Champagne Supernova from Arlo, Will, Jacob, Jedrek & Edward, supported by Mr Harrison.

Our House leaders were then delighted to introduce our new House Prefect team and next, Mr Regan led our extracurricular engagement awards, celebrating Bronze, Silver & Gold winners.

Then it was time to look back on all our other recent house competitions and initiatives.

And to celebrate the many competitors and winners, including of the David Attenborough nature photography competition

In addition to LRC and library house events, and successes in Debating, in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators and in player management and Year 9 Battle of the Bands.

With the big reveal of the winners: well done to Pete, Srikrish, Arees & Harry for their epic rendition of Wonderwall, which we all then got to enjoy in a grand finale!

We were also delighted to celebrate the top house point awardees and our Year Group champions:

Then it was time for Sports Day, a showcase of all the records broken and the breaking news that Mersey House were overall winners. Well done!

Next up: Sixth Form Sports Day and Year 12 Interhouse football. Congratulations to Park, winners of both!

But finally... it was time to reveal and celebrate which House ended the year lifting the cup and topping the leader board ... HUGE congratulations to ... ORME!

Our Year 12 Orme house prefects can be seen in our lead picture proudly lifting the cup, and below are our top 2 Orme house point collectors, Nell & Charlie:

Mr Kennedy-Fowler concluded proceedings by sharing his pride in all the students, and in congratulating them all on an outstanding year.

Well done all, and we wish everyone in our UGS community a fabulous summer!
