shine school media awards success

And more in a great start to the week!

We are incredibly proud to share and celebrate fantastic news from the Shine School Media Awards in London: Noora 12N, a member of our Perspectives school magazine team, triumphed with a win for her non-fiction piece, receiving this accolade from the judges: "This is a writer who has a capacity to make a mark on the world".

And Ewan 12G (who was sadly unable to attend as he is on a work experience placement) was highly commended for his front cover art work!

These are truly brilliant outcomes on what marks a glorious day for Noora, Ewan and the Perspectives team, also proudly represented at the awards by Nyleigha 12T (pictured above with Noora) and Mrs McNally. Well done!

Year 7 scientists present their research

Following their Science trip to Chester Zoo last week, Year 7 were tasked with conducting research into the species they had encountered and to put together presentations in teams.

Today, 7T enjoyed the opportunity to present their research to their Head of Year (and Science teacher), Miss Harding, and they did not fail to impress!

The students had also designed interactive quizzes for their peers and both the quizzes and audience engagement were fantastic!

Well done 7T and more of our Year 7 students will enjoy the opportunity to present later in the week.

Book Fair

It was a great launch to our Book Fair today and fantastic to see so many of our students turn out to show their support.

As well as being a great opportunity to stock up on some reading for over the summer, every purchase helps us to earn free books for school.

With huge thanks to everyone who supported by visiting and to our brilliant Year 10 sales team: Arwen, Yannes and Karunya!

The Book Fair will open every lunchtime until Thursday. We look forward to seeing lots more of our students there!
