work experience week

Year 10 enjoy placements in a huge variety of sectors and professions!
This week marks an important date on our Careers calendar: Work Experience Week, starting with Year 10 and followed by Year 12 next week.
Our staff have been visiting our students on placement and, today, Deputy Head Mr Regan visited Joseph and Karunya (lead picture) at Pozzoni Architecture where they have been tasked with designing a new building for the week.
They have been working with employers to develop their design skills and learning how to use Revit CAD software to support 3D building planning, which they will then present to colleagues on Friday.
Mr Regan also visited Alfie and Nathan at MIG Medical where they have been learning about how a diverse range of medical equipment is developed, sold and used at hospitals across the country. The equipment is high spec and also develops knowledge of how AI is being trialled to support recovery and the quality of care given.

The boys have also been building their own pipes to replicate those at hospitals to hold various gases which they will be testing later this week.
With huge thanks to all the employers and businesses who are providing and facilitating these wonderful opportunities for our students.
