farewell year 11

And celebrating Bradfield House as they top the leaderboard as Half Term ends!

Today we bid a sad but fond farewell to our amazing Year 11 Class of 2026.

First of all, it was time for the traditional signing of shirts and an exchange of gifts.

Staff were delighted to celebrate with the students, not least proud Head of Year Miss Smith:

It was then time for the much anticipated Leaver's Assembly, introduced by Mr Kennedy-Fowler, who shared his pride in them all as an "unbelievable year group", while congratulating them on their UGS journey and on all of their hard work and all that they had contributed to our school community.

Before wishing them luck in their GCSEs and beyond, and sharing how much he is looking forward to seeing many of them return to our Sixth Form in September.

Deputy Head Mr Regan and Assistant Head Mr Roberts then paid tribute to Year 11, celebrating their journey and the many ways in which they have demonstrated and upheld our core school values of Pride, Participation and Empathy.

The students finally enjoyed a slideshow of happy memories before Head of Year Miss Smith closed the assembly by sharing pride in their resilience and determination and her fond parting advice was to always be true to themselves, and to never stop growing and learning.

Year 11, it's been a privilege and a pleasure, and we wish you all the very best of well-deserved success!

Farewell to our ITTs

Today we also bid a sad but fond goodbye to our fantastic ITTs from the University of Manchester: Miss Liu (Mathematics), Mr Chivers (MFL), Miss Sheldon (English), Miss Downing (Biology) and Miss Dixon (Business Education/Economics):

Wishing them all the very best of luck in their teaching careers, and we're delighted to share that Mr Chivers, Miss Downing and Miss Sheldon have been appointed to our MFL, Science and English departments respectively, and we look forward to welcoming them back in September!

House Champions

Throughout this week, we have been celebrating the students who have been awarded the highest number of house points this half term in their respective year groups. And today it was time for the BIG reveal of who finishes this Half Term topping the leader board, and who is leading the charge for the House Cup ... and .... as you will see, it's .... BRADFIELD!!!:

HUGE congratulations to our brilliant Bradfielders! Those with the most house points in their year group are pictured today with House Leader Mrs Chadwick: Bryan 7M, Owen 12T and Toby 8U, as well as Beth 9R and Tom 10M. Well done!!

And in an amazing achievement, Owen has the most house points in the whole of Year 12, not just in Bradfield: it's great to see our most senior students setting the standard!

We're also delighted to celebrate our KS3 mathematicians who achieved incredible results in the recent UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Really well done!

There is still lots to play for for our Houses next half term, including the all-important Sports Day.

But, for now, we wish everyone in our school community a truly wonderful break, and we look forward to seeing you all back in school on 1st June!
